The Road Not Taken
Robert Frost
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had won them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on the way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence;
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
I read only one poem of his pieces.
'The Road Not Taken' He is telling to his youth that
'Two roads diverged in a wood, and I- I took the one less traveled by,
and that has made all the difference.'
This poem is quite famous in South Korea. Because it was once set exam questions, the test was the most important test for high school students because this test was for entrance of universities.
However, it was the first and the last poem written in English of the entrance test.
I think this poem implies negative meanings. Since the title is about the Road not taken. If the poet was satisfied with his choice, he would like to talk about the Road that he taken, but he didn't. Therefore, I think he is trying to reveal that he is missing that the road that he didn't take.
Anyway,
At the first, I misunderstood the sentence ' I took the one less traveled by,' as
'I took the one less difficult.' by my poor English. Therefore, I thought he was regretting,
HOWEVER, he didn't ... maybe.. I'm not sure because it's poem. The poet put various meaning in one word. I'm pretty sure that this poem is about the decision.
We have to the face the situation that we should make a choice. Every single time
even when we are having a breakfast, we are choosing our breakfast between bagels and cereals.
However, what about more serious and heavy topics?
I recently decided to go back to my country in February 2011. I was thinking about to transfer to Northeastern University. However, because of my age, finance limitation and the career that I want to be, I decided to go back to my country as soon as possible.
Learning English have been my dream since I was a very young. And that was the reason why I came to here, Salem, MA.
I learned a lot from SSU ESL program. I made a lot of good friends here, they are more like family to me now and teachers I met were all great and sweet!! I can't forget them forever. Also, I could study business finance in Northeastern University if I decided to stay here longer.
All of those that I mentioned are the opportunity costs.
I hope the profit from decision is bigger these opportunity costs.

MY CHARACTER
In my play, there is one leading character. The leading character is a girl who is only 7 years old. This girl is very different from other same age girls. And she is also an extraordinary girl. This little girl was born in a laboratory of bio-organisms. The master of that lab had created this girl. And the master scientist named her Jill. Jill is composed of two types of organisms: One is just like a human, the other part is a machine. Therefore, Jill can eat food but still, she needs to charge her battery. This little girl has a mother who is only 16 years old. Her name is Juli. Juli donated her ovum to the experiment to create a human combined with a machine. As a result, Jill was created! Jill knows everything. Because she has a computer brain, she is very brilliant and has a sense of humor. Jill is kind of cynical but she gets along with her classmates. Sher trys to get along with her classmates and tries to play with them. However, sometimes, she acts so like an adult that her homeroom teacher gets confused or embarrseed. Jill usually keeps her face expressionless.

A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing - George Bernard Shaw
I wasn't a girl who was active and playful. I was shy when I needed to lead a group or stand on a stage in front of many people. I was afraid of making mistakes. I didn't want to feel sham by making mistakes in front of people. It didn't matter if I had known the people or not. The most stupid mistake I made was hiding myself and doing nothing. I wasn't growing up inside, spiritually. Becuase, I lacked experience. However, I didn't make shameful mistakes either. On the other had, I had a friend who went to the same high school with me. Her grades in school were not good, so she couldn't enter universities where she wanted to go. However, she was a very passionate and active person, always trying to do new challenging things. To enter the university, she chose her major first, fashion design. Sh prepared for the interview., eventhough there was a narrow possibility to pass it. If it were me, I wouldn't have done that. She did and passed! She went on to show up on a cable television show as a designer right after graduation of college in which specialized in Art.
Now, she is preparing for another challenge: studying abroad. She can't speak English well, not only speaking but also every session in using English. However, she isn't afraid of anything, I mean making mistakes. When we were in high school, we were bestfriends. However, I couldn't get any motivation by seeing her, because I did always better than her in grades, in English and in common knowledge. However, she as developed her abilities as a designer, whereas I'm still a student. She earns money, and I still get money from my parents. She is extending ehr career area and I didn't even start my career. I get depressed when comparing myself to her. W are still bestfriends, and now I also get motivation from her. However, It feels like she is growing with her power engine and I'm stuck in my fear of making mistakes. It is like a life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing by George Bernard Shaw. She must has learned something by making mistakes and that give her a power engine to grow up, be a more stronger person. From now on. I need to move on. From a shy girl to a passionate and active person by not worrying of making mistakes.
AND THE EXAGGERATED PART IS that I was a shy girl back in few years.
I've never been a shy girl in my life. . . . .
SORRY >_<

PLAY
This play's title is 'I dream before I take the stand' and it's written by Arlene Hutton.
There are 'She' and 'He'. 'She' is a victim in this court (actually it's dream HOWEVER) 'She' was sexually harassed by a 'Man' who is a lawyer in opposite side of 'She' during the court process.
The sexual harassment was went off by asking shameful and ignoble inquiries to SHE.
I'm not sure. However, it seems like (at least, to me) that he enjoys this situation make sexual jokes to her and make her embrassed.
It really got in my nerve, make me fully angry. Also I was uncomfortable when I was reading this play.

After reading the article
I read the article. The title of this is 'The problem with human compassion'
According to this article, people are usually feel sorry, sad, terrible, horrify and angry when they hear the 'ONE PERSON's miserable situation more than the 'PEOPLE's miserable situation.
It sounds weird because there are lots of stuff to worry or feel sympathy for many people's miserable situation more than only one person's miserable situation.
In my case, I think it is because we can more concentrate on the person who work through very hard time and also we can bring ourselves into that person's situation more easily than people's situation.
In Korea, in these days, the hot topic is about the rapist who raped only 7 year-old girl and I feel serious bad about it. I couldn't stand this guy I feel anger deeply in my heart. And I thought.
WHAT IF IT WAS NOT A GIRL BUT A LOT OF GIRLS.
If It was not a girl but a lot of girls, then it would be kind of abstrative news to me so that I might can not fully understandable and bring my self into those girls because they are so abstrative.
Therefore, I think people usually care of smaller groups or units because they can easily concentrate on them and they can put their mind into them so they can feel sympathy.

Beauty
Beauty
This play named 'Beauty' was written by Carla Bethany.
This story is about 2 girls, Carla and Bethany. They are friends and Carla is the one who is very pretty, she is so pretty that most guys look at her, propose to her, call her.
In the other hand, Bethany, she is very smart but not a good looking girl.
In this story, Bethany gets the Genie in the lamp. She wishes for something like money.
However, she really wants to be just like her friend Carla, because it seems cool and nice.
She wished and got what she wanted, however, they were changed in to the other one.
After reading this play, I thought what if I could make my dreams come true, what dreams would I wish.. not sure, however, I would like to pray like give me the power to go through my future. Out figure does not remain forever, only inner beauty.
Also, beauty not only contains the outfigure but also knowledge and personality.
Also, there are always adventages and disadventages.
